Val led the first walk of 2023, kindly stepping in at last minute. Six walkers set off from Pugh's Garden Centre near Morganstown and did a 6 mile walk along part of the Taff Trail and the old Glamorgan Canal, passing under the M4 (hearing remarkably little noise) We then went around Forest Farm Country Park.where we heard a Great Spotted Woodpecker and saw a grey wagtail, a heron and a shagWe passed the old Melingrith Water Mill on our journey and stopped at an Italian restaurant in Radyr for coffee before finishing at the Ty Nant for lunch. It was a lovely walk in fairly mild weather, just the thing for a January day
