Six Cowbridge u3a members, who were joined at the last minute by a relative of the organiser of the event, took part in this quiz. The competition was closely fought, with six rounds of questions, preceded by a drink, and with a buffet meal half way. All the competitors were astonished to learn that one of the animals associated with Cowbridge High Street was a Zebra, (because of the Zebra crossing!). Other questions were about a wide range of topics, including Under Milk Wood, the Porthcawl Elvis festival, the Thursday Murder Club, car names and many more.
It was a closely fought match with the final scores very close together. Two teams had 55 points, but despite the Cowbridge team's ignorance of Gavin and Stacy we finished victorious with 56 points. The prize, a box of celebration chocolates, will be shared with attendees at the next general meeting.
