The June presentation was something special. Our resident expert Peter Carter chose as his topic, Vintage: Do wines improve with age? He and Jean presented four red wines from the same winery, Chateau la Clarière in Cotes-de-Castillon, adjacent St Emilion in France. They differed by age ranging from 2017 to 2020, and varied slightly in their grape variety composition. There were subtle differences between the four years, with the oldest being the more rounded, in its bouquet and taste, but all were very palatable and appreciated. Peter prepared excellent and extensive printed literature including maps and tasting notes. A thoroughly impressive presentation.
