As part of its 30th birthday celebration Cowbridge u3a held an inter-u3a Quiz in Cowbridge Town Hall. Ten teams of four from Porthcawl, Swansea, Pontyclun, Tonyrefail, Torfaen and the Cynon Valley joined seven teams from Cowbridge to answer questions on a wide range of subjects, including Geography, Wales, the 1990's, History, Sport, Art and Culture, Science, General Knowledge and identifying pictures of people and places. The winners, with an amazing 89 points out of a possible 110, were Porthcawl u3a, with one of the Swansea teams second, and one of the Pontyclun teams third.
